It was 2012 when I was first bitten by the travel bug. A friend who wanted to see all the places at the back of each Philippine bank note, beginning with Mayon Volcano, planned a Bicol getaway on a whim. It was the height of the "Piso Sale"' craze and the next thing I know, we were on a plane to Legazpi.
It was my first trip with a large group and we went to see the whale sharks of Donsol in Sorsogon. It was after chasing the whale sharks in the middle of the ocean and watching thousands of fireflies in the middle of a mangrove-lined Donsol River that I realized there are still so many things to do and so many places to explore in my own, beautiful country, Philippines.
I have never stopped since.
This blog was created to chronicle my adventures as I backpack my way around the Philippines, one island at a time.
